Jacob Abramchaev (Week 1) - The Miami Heat!!

Ever since the pandemic started, basketball (NBA) was postponed. Recently, the NBA has started up again, and now we're down to eight teams left in the playoffs. My favorite NBA team has always been the Miami Heat. I really believe they have a shot at winning the NBA championship title this year because they not only play as a team but as a family. Right now, they are destroying the Milwaukee Bucks who have the best record for the 2020 season. The Heat is beating the Bucks 3-1 in their playoffs series, and this is shocking to see an underrated team beat one of the strongest teams in the NBA. One reason for them being in the NBA playoffs is that their best player Jimmy Butler signed with the team this season. Although the rest of the team is very skilled, he averages over 20 points per game.

The Heat entered its series as a popular underdog pick and many people weren’t predicting a potential sweep. Bam Adebayo, arguably the second-best player on the team, had a recent post-game interview and said “Nobody believed in us.” In my opinion, the Miami Heat can win the title because they don’t give up on a play, they play on both ends of the floor very well whether on offense or defense. They are one of the best 3-point shooting teams in the Eastern Conference. I like the fact that we have Tyler Herro and Duncan Robinson who are Rookies and no one expected them to be this good.

Do you think the Heat have a shot at winning the title?

  1. This is a very good explanation of what is going on with the Miami heat right now. I don't know much about basketball, but I know they used to be very good when the team had Lebron James a few years ago. I liked how you included some statistics about some players on the team so I could get a feel for how the players are performing. To be honest, I have no prediction about whether or not the Heat a shot at winning the title. You have inspired me to start watching basketball again when the U.S. Open finishes (which I encourage you to watch).
