Hunter David Week 6 Blog - Halloween Canceled?

It is so unfortunate that after all of these months, the corona virus is still playing a huge part in our everyday lives, including all of our favorite holidays we enjoy celebrating. One that may be greatly affected by the pandemic this year is the holiday, Halloween. Obviously, Halloween involves large groups of people going around and asking for candy from the many houses in the neighborhoods that you are in. This year, that task may not be as easy to accomplish. Many people might not want random kids coming up to their houses, due to the fear of these uncertain times. Also, some parents might not even let their kids go out trick or treating, as they don't want to risk their kids getting anything from the many different kids that will be around them throughout the entirety of Halloween night. It’s annoying as this is one of the most popular holidays of the year and one that greatly involves many people spending the night together. I’m thinking that maybe people just leave large bowls of candy on the driveway of their house so at least you can still get something for your troubles. But, some kids will do the wrong thing and take the whole bowl for themselves instead of just a few pieces of candy so that everyone is able to have it. This might not be the best of ideas. So what do you guys think, should Halloween be able to proceed with its usual customs. If you think it should or shouldn’t, why?

  1. I do not think Halloween should happen this year because of the coronavirus. I think that it is a good idea to leave candy outside your house if you want to, but most people will probably not be trick or treating. I don't have to worry though because most people do not celebrate Halloween in my community.

  3. Unfortunately, I believe that trick or treating shouldn't occur this year. Younger children with weaker immune systems than the average adult makes them more vulnerable to this vicious virus. As a result, their health always should come first, and even though it absolutely sucks, children shouldn't be walking from door to door.
