Maya Melamed 5- Jerusalem Bagel recipe

This week I tried out a new recipe and made Jerusalem bagels. Usually, when I make homemade bread at home it doesn't amaze me, but this time they turned out so good so I want to share the recipe.

You need:

3 tbsp sugar

2 ¼ tsp yeast

1tsp salt

3 tbsp olive oil

1 ¼ cups warm water

3 cups flour

First, Add the sugar, yeast, salt, olive oil, water in a bowl and mix.

Then, add your flour gradually and mix it well.

After mixing in all the flour, you should take the dough out of the bowl and knead it good.

Then you need to cover it and let it rise.

After it rises, break it into pieces and make a hole in the middle like a donut. Stretch it out so this becomes thin.  The shape should look like the picture I put.

Take a plate and pour the seeds of your choice, just sesame seeds or with poppy seeds. I like to buy everything bagel seasoning and use that.

Once you have the shape, dip it into the water, then into the sesame seeds (or whatever you chose).

Place it onto a tray and let it rest for 10 minutes.

After it's rested, bake for 15-20 min at 400 F.

Once it's cooked it's ready for you to eat!!! You can eat it alone or with any spread or dip you want. I like to eat it with cream cheese.

Let me know if you have ever had Jerusalem bagels.

  1. I don't think I've ever had Jerusalem Bagels, but they sound soooo good. What's the point of making the bagels so long, you might as well make them into a hot pretzel. Like if I wanted to put some tuna, tomato, and lettuce on it, I wouldn't really be able to. Overall, they look amazing, and cream cheese would make a good add-on.
