Oh traveling, how I miss you.

Romi Avidor Week 6 10/12/20 If you know my family you know that we are huge on traveling. This year has been absolutely crazy. This summer was the absolute worst. I did nothing. No traveling, no Israel, and no family. My family basically does the same thing every summer. We fly to Israel right when school ends, and we come back two weeks before school starts. I love Israel. It is my second home! My whole family lives there and every year I wait for summer just so I can finally see them. Here comes the most exciting part. During those 2 months we book different trips and fly to different destinations. Ever since I can remember we have been doing the same routine. For example, five years ago we went to Italy. We went to Rome, Positano, the Amalfi Coast, and Capri. Italy is so beautiful and is just like the pictures. Four years ago we flew to Thailand for two weeks. I know, crazy! We went to Bangkok, Kanchanaburi, Koh Samui, and Phuket. I loved this trip. Being able to experience all these different cultures was eye opening, and the people there were so nice. That same year, for Gaya and my Bat Mitzvah trip, our grandparents took us to Holland. In Holland we went to Amsterdam and villages outside of Amsterdam. I was able to go visit Anne Frank’s house and experience something I never thought I would. Three years ago, we flew to Spain. We went to Barcelona, Ibiza, and Palma De Mallorca. Ibiza was my favorite. The water was turquoise which I love! Two years ago, we flew to Hawaii in the beginning of the summer. We went to Waikiki, the Big Island, and Maui. Of course, that was absolutely insane. That same summer we also went on a cruise from Barcelona, to Palma De Mallorca, to Caan, to Rome, to Pisa, and lastly to Capri. This was also really nice because we took both of our grandmas which was very special to our family. Last summer, my family flew to Mykonos, Greece for a week. This was probably my favorite trip of all time. I got so tan! The water was STUNNING and the vibes were immaculate. Later that summer, we flew to London and Paris. I personally loved London so much. The vibes there were amazing as well. My family watched the Mama Mia broadway show which was absolutely amazing. I really enjoyed Paris as well. I went up the Eiffel Tower which of course is an experience I will never forget. I have been to many other places as well such as, Columbia, Mexico, California, Nevada, Costa Rica, New York, the Carribean, and Canada just not during the summer. As you can assume, my summers sound awesome, which they definitely are. This summer turned out different. It is very sad, but at the same time I was able to appreciate the travelling I do and I miss it so much. Thanks to my parents I am able to experience and get to learn about so many different cultures around the world and that is why I am so attached to travelling. I am so lucky that I can even do such things. Each place I have visited has been amazing and there is so much to learn from every culture. What is your dream destination? Here are the beautiful waters of Mykonos. The link is a quiz about your quarantine and where BuzzFeed thinks you should travel to next based on your quarantine.

  1. Hi Romy. It was cool to read all the places you have been to. I love traveling too and agree that there is nothing better than family vacations. I believe that spending money on material things is not as meaningful as spending money on experiences, which is why I believe trips are the best.
