This weekend, I went with my soccer team to a college showcase in Fredericksburg, Virginia. This was my first time going to an out-of-state tournament with this team, and also my first time flying since February. I landed there on Friday night, and we had games Saturday, Sunday, and Monday. I was so proud of the way that my team played this weekend. We finally clicked and were connecting very well with each other. Even though we didn’t win our games, we lost 1 and tied 2, we dominated all of them and definitely showcased our capabilities to the colleges that attended. I also participated in the goalkeeper showcase on Sunday night, which was basically a goalie training with a lot of people for colleges to watch or get video. It POURED the whole 2 hours and everything I owned was completely soaked.
My dad went to UMD and his best friend from there lives in Alexandria, VA. They came to watch me play on Saturday, we went on their boat in the Potomac River, and then on Monday, when the tournament was over, we went to stay with them for the night. My Dad and I also drove around American University’s campus to see if I would like it. This trip was so much fun and I wish I got to stay longer. I love the fall weather and everything in that area is so pretty. It is definitely one of my favorite places to visit, especially since I am interested in going to college near DC. What is your favorite place to visit?

Hey Liv, that sounds so much fun. I don't think I have actually been to Virginia. Also I cant believe you were on an actual plane. Im kinda scared to go on them right now with corona, but eventually ill go on one.

ReplyDeleteThis sounds so fun and I wish I could go on a trip to escape school for a bit. Everyday and week has been the same and pretty boring, so getting out and seeing a new place would be nice. I've never been to Virginia, but I should visit. Also, I don't have one favorite place to visit because I like seeing any new places.
ReplyDeleteHey Liv, it sounds like you had a lot of fun. My sister is at UMD and I have visited the area, and it really nice. My favorite place has to be Banff, Canada. There are so many beautiful hikes and lakes in the area. I highly recommend going there.
ReplyDeleteHi Liv,
ReplyDeleteThis sounds really fun. I love the Washington DC area. Most of my family is from the Maryland /DC area so i've been there a lot. I am definitely interested in going to University of Maryland for college so we will see.
