Olivia Ball - Week 8 - DO NOT WATCH THE MOVIE DOWNHILL

My favorite thing to do in my free time is watch tv shows and movies. Whenever I have some free time before I need to start my homework, I scroll through all of my roku apps to find something to watch. Netflix and HULU had nothing, so I looked at free movies on Xfinity. I stumbled upon a movie called Downhill. This is by far one of the WORST movies I have seen in a long time.

I’m going to give a summary of the movie and spoil some things, but I don’t care and you shouldn’t either because it actually sucked. When I saw that it was a comedy and a ski movie I thought it was going to be good. Boy was I wrong. It basically just consists of a couple and their children escaping the grief of the main character’s (Will Farrel) father’s death in Austria. The goal is to go there and just ski a lot, but on the first day, there is a controlled avalanche blast that sends a show flying over the lodge that they were eating at. It caused panic among all of the people, however, Will got up and left his family in distress. The rest of the movie is literally just showing the tension between the family after they thought they were left alone to die.

Don’t even get me started on the ending. The main characters, Pete and Billie finally make up at the end when Pete agrees to never leave them alone again, but as they are heading to the airport to go back to America, snow falls off the roof. Pete, once again, moves away from his wife as they are almost hit again. Then it ends. TERRIBLE ENDING. Do not watch this movie unless you like bad movies.

Please enjoy this pun by Yair, “the movie is bad because it is all downhill from the start.” If you don’t get it, I have no words.

Also fun fact my parents saw this movie and said it was awful.

Would you still watch the movie after reading this?

  1. I wasn't going to watch this movie in the first place, but now just because you keep telling me to not watch it, I might just watch it.

  2. Hey liv, so I love movies. I have considered being a movie critic because I love them so much. I would have to watch this movie to really understand how bad your saying it is.
