Welcome back to my blog! So the other night, I went to dinner with my parents, Coby, and Romy. We went to Ramen lab in Mizner (one of my favorite restaurants by the way). Anyways, as we were eating I noticed that there was a Chabad right across the street. I saw this guy from Chabad walking around outside, and all of a sudden he came to our table and asked my dad if he was Jewish. Obviously, he said yes, and the guy asked if my dad could go over to the Chabad because they needed another person to have a minion. My dad and Coby went to the Chabad together and participated in the minion. While my dad was there, he was called up for an Aaliyah. I don't think he has ever had an Aaliyah before, so he felt so honored afterwards. I never had anything happen to me like this before, but this whole experience really showed how tight the Jewish community is. Even though Coby and my dad may not have wanted to pray on a Saturday night, they put that aside and helped our Jewish community. I was thinking how cool this experience was, and where else would a stranger come up and ask you to be a part of a minion? With antisemitism so prevalent these days, you would never think that someone would randomly ask if you are Jewish. Have you ever had something like this happen to you? Would you go to the Chabad like Coby and my dad if you were asked?

That's a pretty cool story. As a Jew living next to a Chabad, I have seen many stories like this where Chabad rabbis go out and ask the most random people if they are Jewish and if they are, then they ask them to put on tefillin. I think that these rabbis are doing a huge mitzvah and that they are a good face to show to the world in order to combat antisemitism.
