Over the long weekend we just had, I realized I actually do work much better under pressure, kinda. For me personally, as of lately nothing has felt real or like anything really matters, including school. Because of this, I have acquired many missing assignments because I merely didn’t wanna do them. This has become quite a toxic habit for me because school is in fact real and my grades are increasingly dropping, but that’s not really the point now is it. Anyways, I had a lot of time on my hands where I could’ve easily finished all my assignments and still had time to chill out and get everything else I needed to do done. Instead, I procrastinated the entire weekend, and, get this, did absolutely no work! First of all, I slept in till the middle of the day, or later, then proceeded to eat and scroll through TikTok for many hours before having to go get ready for dance. On the days I didn’t have dance I just went on my phone and annoyed my parents every few hours and then eventually went to sleep at around 2-3 am. So I came to the conclusion that I work better when I don’t have free time and I’m forced to get my work done in a certain time slot, but I guess not because I’ve been busy for the past couple of weeks and didn’t do any work even though I was constantly stressed about not doing it. Do you work better under pressure or when you have free time? Or are you like me and don’t work well at all lol

Hi Ellie
ReplyDeleteI also have the same problem. When I find I have a lot of time on my hands, it is easier to procrastinate. When I don't have a lot of time, I work efficiently and quickly. As you can see I am writing this at 12:00 on a Monday night. When I get caught in situations like this I like to try and add things to my schedule, I know it sounds weird but I will write in that I need to clean my room or something to keep me a healthy amount of pressured.
Hi Ellie, I totally relate. The problem is I get so much stress knowing I have school work, but I still procrastinate. I feel like I always gets things don't when I do it last minute. I don't like being under pressure, but I always ended up being. I feel like I work well any time i really get into it.
ReplyDeleteHi Ellie,
ReplyDeleteI think I agree to an extent because I procrastinate some work. Usually I try to get most things accomplished quickly but it doesn't always work out like that.
Hey Ellie, in the past I always would procrastinate on school work that I needed to start or get done, but that's all changed. The last two years, I've been making long reminders and to do lists of the things I need to get done each day because I hate the stress of getting something done at the last minute even though I know I'll get it done.
