Hunter David Week 9 Blog - Bye Week for the Eagles

It is that time of the NFL season for the Philadelphia Eagles. It is a definitely needed bye week. After ending the first half of the season with a total of 3 wins, injuries, and a struggling quarterback in Carson Wentz, it was definitely the right time for them to have a bye, reevaluate, and possibly make some moves by the trade deadline, which happens to be today. Fortunately for the Eagles, though they only have a total of 3 wins, they are still in sole possession of the first place in the NFC East, something that the Eagles can thank the rest of the division for. Though there were a good number of negatives towards the Eagles throughout their first eight weeks, there are also a few positives that can be talked about. For one thing, the Eagles were lucky enough to find a star in former practice squad wide receiver, Travis Fulgham, who through his 5 weeks of playing, has averaged the most amount of fantasy points throughout that time. Besides him, the Eagles have a younger receiver group with Greg Ward, Jalen Reagor, and John Hightower, something Carson Wentz needs to start really taking advantage of. Another positive of theirs is star defensive players Fletcher Cox and BRadmom Graham, who are both having great overall seasons. Hopefully, with a long break before their next game against the New York Giants, the Eagles can get healthy, fix some of their mistakes on both ends of the field, and maybe even make some trade moves before the deadline, they have a good shot of winning the NFC East, and having a home game for the Wild Card round of the playoffs. Do you think that the Eagles can use their bye week to their advantage, get better, and stay in first place in the NFC East to make it to the playoffs?

  1. I think the roster is actually very solid. I 100% agree the NFC East is the place to be. Hopefully in the coming weeks they can get healthy and start winning some games but you never know. I'm writing this comment during week 12 and Wentz is not a good QB.

  2. Hi Hunter, I enjoy watching football, but I do not religiously follow any particular team. With my sports knowledge, I think that the bye week is a good thing because it gives them less opportunity to lose and they can get better to prepare for their next game.
