This weekend I tried out the website squadapp.io with a few friends. On this website, you can watch any movie or show with your friends virtually. It's kinda like zoom where you share your screen and are able to see everyone on camera. We decided to watch a few episodes of a show together. While you watch you can see all your friends and chat all together. This made watching the show much funnier because we can chat with each other and write funny things. We were only 5 people, but I'm pretty sure you can have up to 6. It's cool because you can screen share anything and don't just have to watch shows and movies. You can watch youtube or share other things you have on your device. It's very similar to zoom in the way that you can screen share, turn your camera on/off, mute yourself, and chat, but I think this website is better because we are on zoom all the time so it's better to change it up. I have always seen websites like this but never actually tried it till now. Now is a good time to use this too especially if you can't go out much and see your friends due to covid. I recommend everyone to try this and watch something with your friends. If you are bored at home, it's fun and will keep you busy.

ReplyDeleteThat sounds sick! I have seen other types of ways to watch movies with others. I know people make zooms and share their screen. I also know that there is Netflix party. I would definently want to try this. Maybe we can watch a movie one day?
Hi Maya, this sounds really cool! I’m glad it worked well for you. Over quarantine, I've used a few different similar apps for watching movies with friends. First, I tried an app called Rave, but it glitches a lot and doesn't work the best. I don't recommend that one. Also, I've tried it on Zoom, but it's hard to chat and hear what your friend is saying with the shared screen. I've recently been using Netflix Party, though, which works amazingly! I'd recommend Netflix Party the most, but I'll definitely have to check squadapp.io out!
ReplyDeleteI use something similar to watch movies with a friend. We use teleparty but we use facetime as well. There is a chat section to talk with the person you're on with. I don't know how many people it can hold because I really only use it with one person.
