Hunter David Week 13 Post - Wandavision Debuts

After nearly 18 months without any Marvel content, the highly anticipated first Marvel Disney+ show, WandaVision, finally debuted on the streaming service last Friday. It released its first 2 episodes that were each around 25 minutes long and they were very enjoyable. The show was unlike anything that Marvel Studios has ever released before. Throughout the series, Wanda and Vision will travel throughout the different time eras of our history, starting with the 1950s and 60s in the first two episodes. Because of this, the first two episodes were shot as sitcoms, with many similarities to popular shows such as Bewitched and the Dick Van Dyke Show

It’s great to see Marvel’s take on this type of television, and I feel that though the first two episodes started off slow, it definitely got me invested for the rest of the season. There are so many theories and questions that fans are now talking about, from wondering how Vision is even alive in the show, who the neighbor Agnes really is, and even if there will be any surprise appearances from Doctor Strange, or even Wanda’s dead brother, Quicksilver. It is also being highly discussed who the villain of the show is, or if it is just Wanda, who is rumored to be creating the fake reality, as the real villain herself. Luckily, there will be 7 more episodes, with one coming out every single week for nearly the next 2 months. It will be exciting to see what unfolds throughout the rest of the series, and I am looking forward to how this helps begin the true shift into a multiverse in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. If you have watched the first two episodes of Wandavisoon, did you like them, and if so, what are some of your theories that you have about the show so far?

  1. Hi Hunter, I did not watch the first two episodes of WandaVision, but it sounds like it has the potential to be a very good show. Usually, I don't like when a tv show is created based off of a movie, but there are many examples of shows that I loved that were based off of movies. I will definitely give this show a watch eventually, and thank you for not spoiling anything about the show in your blog.

  2. I love love love WandaVision! It was so much fun to see the old-fashioned sitcom style with the little Scarlet Witch/Vision twists tossed in. I'm so excited to see what happens and follow through the story. I'm trying not to make too many predictions, but I do think that it's likely all her own fake reality where she can still be with Vision. Today is the new episode - watching right after dinner!

  3. Hi Hunter, last week I watched the first two episodes, and they just left me so curious. I have never really been into Marvel, so Im a little lost but my parents filled me in so were good. At first it started off a bit slow, but Im glad I stuck with it. I think it's such a creative show with inspiration from older sitcoms. I don't have many theories, but maybe this is all in Wandas head or "someone" is doing this to her. I haven't seen the most recent episode, but I will probably watch it tonight.

  4. Hi Hunter, I haven't started watching WandaVision yet because you really got me into watching Cobra Kai, and I'm only on Season 2. Since I'm a Marvel fan, I'll watch the first two episodes as you recommended, so I think the show will turn out to be a hit. Thanks Hunter for another great recommendation!
