President Elect Joe Biden's Corona Virus Plan- Diana - week 12

As we all know, the coronavirus has impacted Americans drastically this past year. However, President-elect Joe Biden is giving us a promising breakdown of his plan on combating the spread of the coronavirus. Recently, Biden revealed his $1.9 trillion coronavirus plan, which entails the widespread use of covid vaccines, as well as financial aid to those facing economic struggles.

Biden named his plan the “American Rescue plan”, with some of his goals including administering 100million vaccines by the 100th day of his administration, reopening schools by spring, and stabilizing the economy. Biden acknowledges that this is imperative for our country in order to grow from this detrimental pandemic. Additionally, he focuses on making sure that minority communities that have faced the major effects from the pandemic are not shortchanged on vaccines and other health treatments. His plan also funds the hiring the 100,000 public health workers to help give out the vaccines.  However, his plan is costly, Biden is offering $1,400 checks for a majority of Americans in addition to the $600 distributed in the last covid bill.

I think Biden's plan is equipped with everything to hopefully combat the coronavirus and its devastating effects if executed properly. Although the majority of the population will soon be vaccinated, Biden encourages Americans to continue wearing masks and practicing social distancing, as this is the fastest way to slow the spread of this deadly virus. 1. We will certainly see improvement in Covid-19 effects across the country. I understand the concern over a larger budget that may put a strain on government funding, but the totals of sick people and the amount of fatalities blatantly demonstrates that the previous COVID response had safety in the back seat. I feel Biden's plan isn't necessarily effective, but it is placing a much needed spot light on COVID response. Rapid vaccines and staying safe are two big ideas that have undisputable efficacy.
