Aly Strauss, Week 15, Mcdonalds’ Pancakes
So, I started getting coffee and Ice cream at Mcdonalds because they are both only a dollar, and it’s way better financially than buying a 3 dollar matcha latte at dunkin every single day. This led me to Mcdonalds pancakes. When I was younger, my mom loved the pancakes from Mcdonalds and soon, I did too. They’re like cake in a pan (hence the word pan-cakes). They’re also easy to eat on the go.There is a problem though, they’re $2.69.
A lot of you are probably thinking, “what? That’s cheap,” but just hear me out. Their ice tea… a dollar, their vanilla cone… a dollar, their coffee...a dollar! The thing that bothers me is that pancakes are as cheap as those items to make, but it’s still $2.69!
In another world, I wouldn’t care that they’re $2.69, but right now (as a teen), I don’t have that much money of my own.Yes, I’m financially stable, but it’s hard to buy pancakes every single day, and not expect it to add up. Also, I’m not allowed to get a job because of covid and my parents want me to focus on school, so most of my own money is birthday and hanukkah money.
I mean, it’s literally eggs, flour, and water like what?! I’m not complaining though (we’ll I kind of am) because their pancakes are so good, and nothing (except ihop) compares to their pancakes. Usually though I’ll probably stick to their one dollar cone, their one dollar tea, and their one dollar coffee. Occasionally though, I wouldn’t mind getting their amazing pancakes.
