Hunter David Week 17 Post - Watching All American

I recently was looking on Netflix for a new show to watch, and I finally chose to watch the show All American. I have heard many good things about it but just haven’t gone around to watching until now. I am definitely glad though that I started watching because it is a really good series.

The show is based on a true story and is about a high school football player named Spencer James who is an amazing player and student at South Crenshaw High, a school in the hood. After seeing him play in person, Billy Baker, the football coach for the “rich area” of Beverly Hills, recruits him to join his team. Spencer doesn’t want to leave his hometown school at first because he feels bad for leaving his neighborhood, but his mom, Grace, and best friend, Coop, convince him to go play for Beverly Hills. Through the series, the transfer to Beverly, learning about his father who left them eight years ago, and getting to learn about the real struggle of living in the hood makes the show so intriguing. There are so many things added to the basis of the show along the way, it is great. Plus, the show combines both tv-series and football, two of my favorite things to watch. I would highly recommend this show to anyone looking for something new and very suspenseful. Have any of you guys watched the series All American before, and if so, did you like it or not?

  1. Hi Hunter, I haven't watched All American yet, but I've definitely been wanting to! I've been hearing a lot of great things about it, and this post is convincing me to give it a watch soon. I think it sounds particularly interesting to see how a character like Spencer James adjusts to the different lifestyle in the wealthy Beverly Hills. I also think football can be pretty enjoyable to watch sometimes, so I think I would like this show!

Even though I don't like watching football, its enjoyable in the show. Right now, i've been watching the new season thats been coming out only on TV, but I wish it was on netflix already.

  3. Hi Hunter,
I also watch All American and I love it. I think that is is such a good show because all of the drama that happens throughout the show. There are so many cliffhangers throughout the show especially when the season is over. Something always happens and then you have to wait a whole half a year to a year in order to find out what happens. It is also based on a true story which makes you really think about how this happened to someone in real life. I am on the new season and I wait every week for a new episode to come out and so far I am really enjoying it.

  4. Hi Hunter,
I watched All American and loved the first 2 seasons. I think the messages are super important and its such a good show with just enough drama. I feel like the 3rd season isn't as good as the two previous ones, though. I feel like it's way more boring, but we'll see how the next episodes are.

  5. Hi Hunter,
I watched two seasons of All American, and it was pretty good. It's just not really my type of show. I like more dystopian action shows, but for this not really being my ideal show, i enjoyed it. I havent stated the 3rd season yet, but im planning on watching it when it comes out on Netflix.
