About two weeks ago, our HS soccer team's season ended. This season, we got past districts and into regionals, something that the DK soccer team hadn't done in 3 years. We won multiple games in the regular season, then won in penalties in the district semi-finals, and then lost in district finals, which didn't really matter that much because both the winner AND loser of that game made regionals. Unfortunately, we heartbreakingly lost in penalties, but it's fine because it still took us to regionals. Even though we lost in the first game of regionals, it was still a very successful season and one that surpassed all of our expectations.
With the end of soccer season came going back into the high school for classes. This past week was my first back in person, and it was okay. It's not really my choice to be going in person, which sucks because most people are online so I'm not a big fan of going in person. On the bright side though, I was able to see a bunch of classmates and friends and teachers again after a while, so that was cool. I already went into Ms. Noiman's office and laid down on her new couch.
While I'm not a huge fan of going back to in-person school, there are still some definite bright spots about it and it is more social and interactive than online school, so that's always good.
Hi Dan. First of all, congratulations on the successful soccer season! The soccer team seemed to do really well from what I’ve heard. It's also great that you get to be in person to see classmates, friends, and teachers. I agree that it has benefits with being more interactive, but I understand where you're coming from in that in person school is not as exciting when most people are virtual. Hopefully you can have a good mix of virtual and in person learning with G days and other days when you have less classes! Maybe more people will come in person soon too!
ReplyDeleteHi Dan. Congrats on a great season! I felt the same way when I went back to in-person school. It was definitely weird and tiring, but I found that focusing in my harder classes like APUSH, lang, and physics was much easier in person. I do enjoy waking up later and being able to relax more in virtual school, but in general I think going in person is more rewarding. Also, I too went into Ms. Noiman's office and slept through tefilah once. The new couch isn't horrible but I miss the old one :(
ReplyDeleteHi Dan congrats on the soccer season! It must have been so fun to play on a school sports team because I didn't this year. I personally like in person school better because I get to socialize with my friends.
ReplyDeleteHey Dan, congrats on having such a successful soccer season. I feel the same way about going to in-person school. Personally, I enjoy learning in person because I feel that I'm able to comprehend all the material a lot easier and better. I also enjoy being able to interact with the people that go in person. Unfortunately, there's barely any people that go to in person school on a normal basis, so it's not as exhilerating as it used to be.
ReplyDeleteHi dan,
ReplyDeleteCongratulations with soccer this year. Coming to school in person definitely has its perks, but at the same time i dont always feel like coming in. I love seeing my friends, and I feel liek I am able to learn better in person but sometimes id rather just stay at home. I preferred the hybrid schedule when it was some days in and some days out. This way I would get a little break and get to sleep in, make breakfast etc. I don't mind coming in everyday, its just sometimes it gets a little tiring.
Hi Dan,
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the soccer season! I haven't gone in person at all, but I see how it could feel a little weird. I think you will get used to it and you will hopefully start to like it better. I hear from other people that its actually easier to focus and learn material when it's in person. At least you were able to go to Mrs. Noiman's office and lay down like you used to.
