Hey guys so tonight I finally accomplished a goal of mine: mastering an 8 strand challah. My mom and I always just make the classic 3 strand because it’s easiest, thats how I was taught, and in my opinion tastes the best. In addition, the little rolls are easy with any excess challah dough you have left. But I always see this insane 8 strand and have always wanted to try it. It is all over the internet and looks amazing. For the past few weeks, I have tried it but usually failed. I got frustrated and just taken the strands and made the regular braided challah. This week I finally got it down and it looks so pretty for tomorrow. It was super complicated and I had to do a lot of preparation for it. I am sure my hard work will pay off and everyone will enjoy it. (I can totally help anyone if they want to try it!!)
In an effort to make this post longer, I will talk about the best challah toppings. Everyone goes crazy over everything but the bagel seasoning from Trader Joes but it's not a hit in my house. Anyways I am allergic to sesame which makes that a problematic spice for me lol. Cinnamon sugar is definitely the best in my opinion. Honey is a close second. Both of them make the challah really sweet and yummy. If you don’t like sweet challah, poppy seeds are nice for a more plain taste. Leave in the comments below what your favorite way to make or eat challah is

Hi Lauren. I love some good quality, homemade challah. I agree that cinnamon sugar is the best topping, but I also love the everything but the bagel from trader joe’s. My favorite challah that my mom makes is Oreo where she flattens the strands and fills them with crushed oreos. She then rolls it back into a log to braid. Maybe one day we will try the 8 strand challah. It looks really hard, but the end result is worth it.
