Recently, my family and I have been planning for me to visit some of the colleges that I’m interested in, over the next few weeks and months. Though unfortunately, I am not able to get an official tour with a tour guide of all the campuses, I am luckily able to take a self-tour on my own, starting with the University of Georgia in two weeks on April 21st.
Due to my parents' busy schedules currently, my grandfather and I will be taking the about 11 to 12-hour drive up to Georgia in two weeks, where we will be walking around the Georgia campus, and hopefully, run into a student or faculty member who is willing to show us around the campus for a bit. I am looking forward to finally being able to visit a college; this will be my first one that has to do with looking for my college career.
Besides the University of Georgia, I am also planning on visiting other schools in and out of Florida, such as Indiana, Wisconsin, Michigan, UF, FSU, and others in May and into the summer. I am looking forward to not only seeing all of these college campuses but also even being able to go to a couple other states that I have never traveled to before. So, have any of you guys started to look at and/or visit any colleges yet, and if so, what did you think of them and your experience? Do you think it’s possible to decide what college you want to attend without visiting it first? It definitely isn’t something I would want to do.
Hey Hunter, how is it possible that we are at this stage in our life? When did this happen haha. I think it's great that you can visit schools while turning it into valuable time with your family. I would definitely want to visit the school before attending.
ReplyDeleteHey Hunter,
ReplyDeleteIt is mind-boggling that we are now in the stage of our lives where we need to think about college. When I went to Boston a few weeks ago, I visited Boston University and Harvard(only because my cousin goes there lol). I decided that I do not want a college with a city campus like BU. I think I like a more formal campus, so it is nice to know what I don't like and can eliminate other city schools on my list. I also decided that the cold climate is not ideal for a Floridian like me, so I will most likely be going somewhere warm. I also think that you should visit a college before going, if you can, to get a feel for it and make sure it is right for you.
Hi Hunter, I have thought about visiting colleges but have not got rounding to visiting any yet. I do think it is possible to decide where to go to college without visiting first, but it is better to visit beforehand so you know what you are getting in to. Hopefully next year things will return back to normal and we will be able to visit schools and weigh our choices better.
ReplyDeleteHey Hunter, as of right now, I have not visited any colleges. My mom and I are planning to go on a road trip to visit all the Florida schools because I probably have to stay in state. I would love to venture out to visit some schools in either California and/or schools in the north east. I would love to visit colleges before committing so that I can be extra confident in my decision.
ReplyDeleteHi Hunter,
ReplyDeleteIt is scary that we are talking about college, but since Gaya and I are so close in age I went with her last year to tour Miami. I absolutely loved it and I really do see myself going there. I am a very big homebody so the distance from my house is just perfect for me. I think that it is very hard to go to a college that you have never visited. I think that overall it is very tough to make a decision like this at such a young age because we do not know what we want and what will make us truly happy. When I went to tour Miami I really saw myself going there. One of my problems is that I also want to be in Israel. It will definitely be tough for me to choose...
