As you all know, vaccines are starting to become more available for the general population, with the largest distributors being CVS and Publix in Florida. So, a few weeks ago, my mom called by doctor and she wrote me a letter of approval for the Covid Vaccine. Then, I booked an appointment at CVS because that is the main place to get the Pfizer vaccine. Appointments were super limited, so I had to drive 2.5 hours away to Lake Whales to get the shot that took 20 minutes. My only symptom following it was my arm hurt that night, but I was pretty much fine the rest of the day. Now, 3 weeks later, it was time for my second shot. I was very nervous because I didn’t want to get sick, and everyone said mixed results. Luckily I got a new appointment in Delray, so I didn’t have to drive far. On Wednesday, the day of my shot, I felt completely fine, but I woke up the next day and I did not feel well at all. I wouldn’t say I felt super sick and I don’t think I had a fever, but I definitely did not feel normal. I had a headache all day, I felt super tired, and I was cold and sweating at the same time. Overall, I just felt weird and I can’t even explain it. But luckily, the next morning I was completely fine and back to normal. I am so happy now that I got the vaccine and that my whole family was able to so that now we don’t have to worry as much. Have any of you gotten the vaccine? If yes how did you feel? If not, do you want to get it or no? Why?

Hey Liv,
ReplyDeleteI just got my second vaccine yesterday, and I am so excited to be fully vaccinated. Last night I felt tired, and in the middle of the night I was awake with chills and a headache. I took some medicine, put on warmer pajamas, and had an ice pack on my head. This morning I took my temperature, and it was 99.7. I'll probably just spend the day watching Gilmore Girls and relaxing. One day of feeling icky is worth it because soon more and more people will be vaccinated, and we will be closer to returning back to normal!
Hi Liv. I got my first shot a couple days ago and it was honestly fine. The actual shot itself wasn't bad at all, getting my ears pierced probably hurt more. My arm hurt the rest of the day and most of the next, but I didn't do the crazy arm swing thing I've seen all over tiktok. While I was waiting 15 min to see if I got a reaction though I noticed something weird. I've heard a lot of people also said this but my mouth tasted kinda metally, almost like blood, for about an hour. Super weird. I'm wondering how I'll react to the 2nd shot because no one else I know got a bad reaction to it except for you.
ReplyDeleteHey Olivia, I'm getting my vax on tuesday, so reading this makes me feel better. Honestly though, It's not like I'm very scared about it but I just don't want the post-vax symptoms. I'm so happy Florida has been so successful and responsible with the vaccine rollout, and hopefully everyone in school can be vaccinated soon.
ReplyDeleteHey Liv,
ReplyDeleteI am getting my vaccine this Friday. I think I am getting the Pfizer vaccine. Hopefully I do not get sick and sorry that you weren’t feeling well. It’s all worth it though because soon we can all get back to normal life. Do you think we still should or shouldn’t wear masks even after we're vaccinated and if so why?
