Over winter break my family and I went to Boston for a long weekend. My sister is moving to Boston next year because she is going to Nursing school at Northeastern. I have never been to Boston before, but overall my first time their just mediocre. We thought we would just fly up look at some apartments, and then have the rest of the trip to do fun activities around Boston. Well, that was not the case. We spent two out of the four days looking for apartments. We toured about a million apartments and finally, we found something perfect for my sister. Now usually trips are supposed to be relaxing, but this trip was the complete opposite of that. My sister was having mental breakdowns about her future, which ultimately led to me overthinking and panicking about my own future.
At first, my sister was nervous of moving to Boston all by herself, not knowing anyone, and basically starting the next chapter in her life. Initially, I thought, well that's stupid, she will be fine and adjust eventually, but then I was oh my god that will be me in a year. I'm doing the same thing in only a year!!! I have to go to college, where I may not know anyone, and like my sister, I will be starting the next chapter. For some reason, my mind can't grasp how fast time is going. I hate change, but unfortunately, I can't do anything to stop it. When someone even brings up the topic of college, I get mad because I just don't want to accept the fact that I will be going in a year. To sum it up, this little trip to Boston led me down a spiraling hole of thoughts about the future (:
