College Plans
Romi Avidor 9/ 13/20 Week 2
Hi again to everyone reading my blog. This time I am going to talk about something that has been on my mind a lot. My college plans. I know many people say “you have time”, but no time goes by so fast. Before I know, I am going to have to make a decision. Something that has really interested me and really attracts me is going to Israel. I love Israel. It is my second home and my whole family lives there. I always wanted to know what it is like to live in Israel and not just be there as a tourist. Since I go to Israel every summer, lately I have felt very connected to it. I see how the kids live there and it looks like a lifestyle I would love to experience. Another option I have thought about is going to UM. I want to stay close to home and this has always been my dream. It is very recent that I have been thinking about going to Israel, but UM is a really big option for me. I always pictured my life like this, going to UM, living in miami, and working at my dad's restaurants. I toured it and loved it. I don’t know what it is that really attracts me to go there. Maybe it is the fact that I will be able to see my family all the time. I am a very big homebody and don’t really like to be away from home. Most people would be surprised to hear this because they don’t understand how I would possibly want to be with my family. Many of the people I know do not have a connection with their parents like I do. My parents are my best friends and know literally everything. All my siblings and I are not the type of kids that hide our lives from our parents. Rather we have a good relationship with them and we are very open with one another. I look up to both my parents a lot. I might even want to take a gap year and go to Israel, but that's a whole other topic. Anyways these are my options right now, but I am staying open minded. What are your future college plans? Here is a website that helps you choose what kind of college you would be interested in.https://www.niche.com/about/college-quiz?utm_source=gPPC&utm_campaign=gppc_college_quiz&gclid=Cj0KCQjwhvf6BRCkARIsAGl1GGh8EcIi1s8bmuWP9-1BJlkUg5VDyXU_yeHbMJjBk5njpi7WXQASU1QaAijQEALw_wcB

For college, I will be staying in the country and attending a school likely in state. I would really like to go somewhere out of state for school and live somewhere I've never lived before, but we'll see.
ReplyDeleteI plan to go to a college with a large jewish community, but beyond that, I am not sure where I want to go. I would probably take a gap year in Israel before going to college, but I will stay in America for college.
ReplyDeleteHi Romi! I totally understand where you're coming from. I think a lot about college plans and the future too. It's definitely a difficult decision to make. I have always wanted to go out of state for college, particularly somewhere in (or close to) the Northeast like New York. I've been to New York every summer, for several years, to visit my relatives who live there, and I love it so much!
ReplyDeleteCollege is for sure a very universal question among kids our age. Even knowing what you want to do doesn't even necessarily mean you can pursue, so it's awesome that you have a plan for both! Good luck in achieving your dreams I'm sure you will be successful.
ReplyDeleteHi Romi! I have absolutely no idea what I'm doing in the future. As of right now, I'm just hoping and praying there's a mediocre college that will take me with the grades I've gotten in the past...I'm not much of a school person, in fact I absolutely hate it, but college is kinda the default choice, especially for kids in our "Boca Bubble." I don't really have any other plans on how to make enough money to survive on my own, and I've saved up a lot of money in my college fund and my parents are so generous and willing to pay for it, so I think that's probably what I'll do. Having a degree is important for jobs in the real world so that's a pretty good reason to go.
