Fall is my favorite season for many reasons. Although it seems obvious, it’s actually not because of my birthday. Not to sound cringy, but the vibes are just indescribable. I don’t know how to explain it. Everything just feels warm and cozy and like everything’s going to be ok. Whether it’s from the scents, the weather, or the idea I have of it in my mind, it just makes me feel something that no other season can. Unfortunately, a lot of the vibes come from the weather, which we never get. If we’re lucky, we’ll get into the 50-60s in February, but by then, it just doesn’t feel the same. It annoys me so much that I didn’t get to grow up somewhere in like New England or something where fall is absolutely beautiful, not like a continued summer. I love Thanksgiving and I was lucky enough to spend it in New York City 2 years ago when I performed in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, which was unfortunately canceled this year :( The weather was cold but AMAZING. It was the coldest Thanksgiving in 100 years, but we went to my parents’ friend’s house and it was exactly like the image I had in my head of fall. The fireplace was lit, the house was cozy, and brown, orange, and red leaves were strewn all over their yard; everything just felt right. The Thanksgiving the next year was quite the disappointment in comparison. I really wish Florida didn’t have to be hot all year round, and with global warming, it’s getting even worse. Unfortunately for me, summer is my least favorite season and that seems to be what we get for the whole year. What is your favorite season and do you also enjoy the fall VibEz we never seem to get?

I resonate with this on a deep level. Fall just has cozy and homey vibes. The leaves, the candles, and the PUMKIN SPICE. I love fall so much, but I wouldn't want the fall in New England. The fall in middle states or Georgia is just right for me. It's not too cold like up north, but still get chilly enough to wear fall clothes. I love the thought of waking up to a chilly breeze, putting on slippers, and drinking a pumpkin spice latte. Ellie, pro tip: go to Trader Joes and buy all of their pumpkin/fall foods and snacks.
ReplyDeleteI completely understand this sentiment! I absolutely love fall and miss living in Gainesville, because at least they get seasons. In fact, autumn is one of the few things that has me wishing I no longer lived in Florida. I'm tired of the year-round hot temperatures!
ReplyDeleteHahahah subtle flex with the fact that you were in the Macy's Thanksgiving Parade but yeah I agree with you. It's not even that I like fall that much, but it's more of I just want weather that doesn't feel like summer. Sometimes I wish I didn't live in Florida but then I remember that there are actual living human beings in the state of Wyoming and I feel a bit better.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you that the vibes in fall are just different. It is annoying that we don't get to experience and real fall in Florida, so winter is my favorite season. I hate the 100 degree summers here, and this summer has been the worst. If you like pumpkin buy the trader joes pumpkin bread box. IT IS SO GOOD!
