I purposely waited until this Monday to write this post, because I was excited to see and write about how it was to see my classmates in person together while I am online. I can only find one word for it, it's depressing. I am sitting in Judaics with two others on zoom watching some of my classmates of 10 YEARS talking, laughing, and having a good time. I adjusted to not seeing anyone for about 5 months, so it felt normal. However, seeing the way school is, it's upsetting me. I miss my classmates and my friends, and am genuinely sad I can't see them. When I am one of the only ones on zoom I am barely engaged in the class, and can't hear anything. I'm frustrated about being stuck online and now just feel sad and alone watching everybody together. Everyone in person is so energized and showing emotion, I am a zombie and hate these classes that I normally would like. I guess it took a pandemic and hybrid schooling to teach me that I take advantage of all the kids I was privileged enough to get to know over a long period of time. So if any of my classmates are reading this for comments, just know that I'm sorry for taking friendships for granted, and I miss seeing every single one of you. I'll be online in the hybrid for this whole year most likely, and thinking that I won't see my grade from Sophmore year to Senior year is insane. Good luck to the people in person and enjoy it.

Hey Zev, I really understand where you are coming from. Online school alone is tough, but with everyone in person it is much more difficult. Reading this made me sad, and I miss you Zev!!!!! Also, see you on the tennis court soon.

ReplyDeleteHi Zev, I total feel you and I am dying too from all this time on a computer screen. I totally agree and it is very depressing, as you are in you're room for almost the entire day before and after school. If we were on a screen for just school it would be different, but we are assigned hours of homework for after that take up the entire night. maybe we can talk to someone about this and get it changed.
ReplyDeleteZev, I absolutely love you (; I know it must frustrating being on zoom, and we all miss you! However, I am glad something good came out of it though, you now appreciate all the little things in school that you took for granted.

ReplyDeleteHey Zev, I understand what you're saying because I'm also stuck on Zoom all day just staring at a computer screen for hours at a time. It does get boring and lonely at times, but I just try to stay positive and keep going. I miss you ZEV!!!!!
