Last week, I was bored and just scrolling through Youtube’s trending video list when I saw a video by Logan Paul titled, “I Bought A $200,000 Box Of Pokémon Cards.” I couldn’t believe that someone would even spend that much money on a box of paper. I watched the video to find out that Paul bought this rare Pokemon First Edition Booster Box from Heritage Auctions, and he was the winning bidder at 200k. Paul loved Pokemon trading cards as a kid, but the nostalgia kicked in so he just had to have one of the rarest pokemon boxes in the world. I’ve never been a Pokemon fan, but this was just interesting. The box is in such high demand because you have a chance of pulling a first edition holographic Charizard card, which goes for around 200K just on its own in graded PSA 10 condition. The Charizard card is the most sought after Pokemon trading card. The box contains 36 1st edition packs, so he ended up selling each individual pack for $11,111 apiece in order to raise money for charity. He decided to open the box in a live stream on October 9th, while 300,000 viewers including me watched. I thought it was very generous of him to donate most of the money to the National Alliance on Mental Illness. I was watching mainly to see if he pulls the Charizard card out of one of the packs because it's a gamble. He did end up pulling one and many other very expensive cards. I really enjoyed the Livestream, so you guys should go and check it out.
What do you guys think about him spending 200K on trading cards?

I understand it sounds crazy that pieces of paper can hold so much value, but I am also seeing that they are real investments. Do you see yourself developing a passion for the card market potentially being inspired by Logan Paul? It sounds like you enjoyed the rush of him "pulling a Charizard" ( not sure what that means) and may want to try it yourself but on a smaller scale with less money.
