Last week on Tuesday, I went to school for the first time since last March when it closed due to coronavirus. I didn't go for a regular school day, but I went to take the ACT.The night before I had a lot of thoughts going through my head because I realized things would be different and I didn't know what to expect. When I got to school it felt kind of weird and felt very empty and dead. It was very empty when I went because I had to go in early and only kids who were taking the ACT were there, but it was still nice for me to see people that I haven't seen in a while. When I was there, it felt strange that we all had to be distant and have masks on because last time I was at school I assumed we would be back to normal by this time. That day I didn't actually get into the high school building because we were testing on the mac. Then on Friday, I had to go back to take another section, and that time I actually got to go inside the building. Because I haven't been going to school in person they were things I wasn't used to. I kept forgetting that the hallways are one way and certain staircases were assigned for going up and down. It was actually kind of annoying because if I wanted to use the staircase that was close to me, I had to make a full circle around the school. Also if I passed the room I needed to go to, I had to keep walking all around till I got back there. I think overall even though it was different from how things used to be, it was nice to go into school after not being there for 7 months.
Have you guys been to school yet? If yes, how did it feel the first time?
Hey Maya,
ReplyDeleteI completely agree. School just does not feel the same ever since we have come back. I've been at the school since I was at the pre-school and it's just very different to be honest.
