Lauren- Week 13- Best part of Miami

This past Sunday, we met family friends for brunch who live in Bal Harbour. I haven’t really been to this area of Miami much but the Bal Harbor area is so beautiful. It is only an hour away from us but it feels like you are on a vacation. The homes are all on the water and everyone seems to have a boat. Bal Harbor is definitely different from the suburbs which we are all used to but I would love to live in this area of Miami when i’m older. Especially in the Bal Harbor area there is a really big Jewish community. There are synagogues on every corner and living in that type of environment is very important to me and something I won’t sacrifice. It would be an amazing place to raise a family. Although it is a “city” lifestyle, with everything being waterfront this makes the whole mood more calm and relaxing than the typical city. Less of the hustle and bustle and more of a paradise type of feel. There are tons of shops and restaurants completely within walking distance. It was so much fun. It is a very active city with so many people running, biking, and walking along the water. The city is definitely very crowded though. Probably something I'd have to get used to although not as crowded as downtown Miami. I love this area of Miami much more than South Miami or Aventura. Bal Harbour is the perfect in between. I can totally see myself living there when i’m older and married. Comment down below what your favorite part of Miami is!

  1. Hey Lauren, this sounds like such a fun a day trip! Recently, I went to Key Biscayne with my family and it was absolutely amazing. Before arriving, I thought that the island was just filled with beaches and had a national park, but I was wrong. It's actually like its own little city with the same type of vibe you explained in your blog about Bal Harbour. It felt like the city purposely set a very calm and relaxed mood to it. Have you ever been to Key Biscayne? If so, what was your experience like?

  2. Hi Lauren! I personally disagree with you and couldn't really see myself living in Miami when I'm older, or anywhere in Florida in general. But I do still love Miami. The giant Aventura Mall is so much fun and the beaches are so pretty. But my favorite part about Miami is the Miami Zoo, where I actually went to this past weekend lol!

  3. Hey Lauren, I agree with you that Miami is a great place to live, and I was actually at Bal Harbour a few days ago. I go to Miami often and I could see myself living in Aventura in the future because its not as quiet. I think living in Bal Harbour is better when you're closer to retirement. Overall, the city is awesome, but the suburbs are probably better for family.
