This past Wednesday, I got quite possibly the best news I have ever received in my 17 years of life on planet earth. My dad and I are going to the Super Bowl in Tampa Bay, to watch my favorite team - the Tampa Bay Buccaneers - face off against the Kansas City Chiefs, the defending Super Bowl champions. Ironically, the fact that I'm going to be able to go to the SB is all thanks to one person, and it's a person we all know very well; Ms. Joseph. Yup, thanks to Ms. Joseph, my dad was able to get tickets for us. Greg, Ms. Joseph's son, is a kicker in the NFL and he plays for the Bucs practice squad, so he gets four (not free) tickets to the big game since his team is in it. The second that the Bucs made the SB, I immediately emailed Ms. Joseph asking if she would be willing to talk to my dad about maybe being able to work out the possibility of selling us two tickets, and after about a week, my dad purchased them, and now on Sunday morning, we're going to drive up to Tampa and go watch the game! What's crazy about the Bucs making the SB is that the SB is being played in Tampa Bay this year, and never once in NFL history had the SB host team made it to the Super Bowl, the Bucs are the first to ever do that. This is because the SB locations are already set years prior, so for example, today, February 5th 2021, we know that the SB four years from now in 2025, is being played in New Orleans.
Ultimately, this experience that I'm about to have in a couple days is something that will hopefully go unmatched for a long time. Even if the Bucs lose, it will be a once in a lifetime experience, and certainly, one that I'll never forget. I will forever be grateful that I have the opportunity and luck to be able to do things like these, and of course, I will forever owe Ms. Joseph and Greg for this.
LETS GO BUCS!!!!
Hi Dan! It's so cool that you went to the super bowl! I remember when Ms.Joseph first brought it up in class, and you wanted the tickets so badly. I don't know anything about sports, but yay Bucs! Also the commercials were pretty good this year.
