Living in Florida
This week, I could not think of anything to write about, so I chose the question: “Do you think you could be happy just living in south Florida forever?”. My short answer is yes, but I have to write a long blog post so here I go…
I personally love living in Florida because I am able to go outside year round and live normally. Hurricanes can be annoying, but they always miss us at the last minute. There are no snow storms like there are in the Northeast, where schools close down and the weather is miserable in the Winter. Also, there is a wonderful Jewish community in South Florida, and that is very important for me. In the future, I will probably be looking to live in a Jewish area, and Florida’s Jewish community has grown a lot in the past 10 years. There are a lot of Jewish New Yorkers moving down to Florida because the weather is nicer here. Also, living in a big city like New York can be hectic, so Florida is a nice escape. I don’t like big cities, so an area like Boca Raton seems like a good fit for me. Maybe I’ll just never leave my house.
At the same time, I don’t know what my life will look like in 10-20 years. I might move to a certain area for a job, so Florida might not be my future. Also, I might get sick of Florida in the next few years, especially since I will explore other areas when I go to college. I would love to live in South Florida when I’m older (as of now), but there are many other beautiful places to live and I can’t guarantee that I will end up living here.
So, there is my long answer. Would you like to live in Florida when you are older? Where do you want to live? Do you like Florida?
Hi Yair! Well, don't get me wrong, I love Florida. We have a great Jewish community, and the beach's only minutes away, but I don't know if I'm gonna stay here when I'm older. No matter what I will have a house here (like a beach house, or a small apartment), but I'd rather move somewhere else with a Jewish community and winter. Some places I'm considering are New york, New Jersey, or Boston. Family though is important as well as Judaism so I'll probs stay in Florida, and have a vacation house in New York. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm not even thinking about vacation houses when I'm older omg. I just am thinking about where I want to live loll
