On Tuesday at around 2:30 pm, there was a shorting at a Kings Sooners grocery store in Colorado that killed 10 people. People were in there just food shopping as they normally do when suddenly a gunman started shooting using an assault style rifle. Employees and shoppers ran to find cover and some said that they escaped through an employee stock area and a loading dock at the back of the store. Six hours after the shooting the Boulder Police chief, Maris Herold, announced that 10 people including an officer had been killed. The officer killed was the first one who responded to the scene. The suspect, Ahmed Al Aliwi Allisa, is not being held in jail. His charges were a penalty of life imprisonment without parole.
I honestly have no words. It was already crazy enough that all these school shootings were happening too often, but now in a grocery store? We can’t even do anything normal without being at risk anymore. These innocent people just went to go buy some groceries for themselves or for their families but weren’t able to make it home. It’s so sad and so scary. We shouldn’t have to be scared to go out and do normal things like grocery shopping. It’s just not fair.
What are your thoughts?
