For the past two months I have been doing virtual school because I was playing on the soccer team. When I first agreed to play on the team, I was hesitant about the fact that I would be home for one month. But then it ended up being two. When I tell you it was awful.
I am usually a pretty good student, but being at home really sucked. I lost all motivation for school and really let my situation get the best of me. But, this week was officially my first week back to school. If i’m being completely honest, the first few days of the week were rough. I came back to realize how behind I am in some classes, how little I know for my tests, and how much work I am missing. I spent the better half of these days stress crying, which is a normal thing for me so don’t be worried. I was beyond stressed. But the one thing I missed the most about being in school was talking to all of my teachers, and they are what helped me get through the worst part of my week. I ended up having a great week and I am so happy to be back. I can finally say that I look forward to going to school each day, instead of dreading waking up to join classes. Hopefully, the rest of the year will be better for me and I will be able to improve my grades in all my classes. Do you prefer being fully online or in-person? If you are an online student, why did you choose that (if you did) and would you come back if you could?

To be honest, there are a few benefits for both the in-person and online school for me. For online, I like being able to sleep later in the morning, as I am already in the spot where I am going to be doing school. On the other hand, I miss interacting and hanging out with everyone back in person. I am likely going back in-person next week, which I am looking forward to.
ReplyDeleteHi Olivia. It can definitely be harder to learn virtually, so it's great that you can come back in person again! I’m glad that the situation is already improving for you. It's hard for me to completely answer your question because I ideally like a mix of both online and in person whenever possible. I think being fully online can be difficult and miserable for me, while fully in person can be overwhelming and awkward (if not a lot of people come). If I had to choose though, I would say in person is better because of the social interaction and more engaging learning.
ReplyDeleteHi Olivia, I prefer online school and personally feel like i'm less stressed at home. I also think my grades have been better, but everyone is different. I understand what you are saying, because there are so many kids that do better in person. When it comes to motivation I can agree that its difficult at home. I think i would choose to continue staying home for the rest of the year.
