Ethan- Week 23- How my Passover was

I had a great time during Pesach! Here is how it went and what I did-

My Sabah and Savtah flew in from Jerusalem and my two older sisters came back from Philadelphia. Starting on Friday (our first day off of school), I helped my family clear out our kitchen and then cleaned the house for any Chametz. Once the holiday started, I played a lot of board games with my family, including Settlers of Catan and Rummikub. In terms of food, my favorite Pesach foods are Matzah Pizza, Coffee Cake, and Matzah Bry (Same as french toast but with Matzah). For our Seders, my family and I stayed up until around 1 or 2 AM and we were exhausted afterward. After the first Seder, my dad and I went over to the Rabbi’s house (after he invited us to Shul) and finished their family’s seder with them, which went until around 2:30 AM. Their family was so excited to have us and we all had a great time. I played a lot of Ping Pong and Soccer in my backyard during the days without electronics. During Chol Hamoed, my grandparents, my mom, and my younger sister went to the Miami Seaquarium and it was actually really cool. They had a bunch of cool shows that included Dolphins doing double backflips, Sea Lions sliding down water slides, Killer whales making huge splashes, and penguins sliding around. I definitely recommend going there and it was an awesome time. Sadly, I had to take almost a week off of soccer during this break which is not great. My team won a tournament without me, so I will have to fight hard to keep my starting position when I go back today. I am not worried though as I trained a lot by myself over the break and continued to do fitness. I think my favorite parts about Pesach are the Seders, remembering the exodus, and spending time with my family. How were all of your Pesach? What did you do? What are your favorite Pesach foods to make? Does anyone not celebrate Pesach?

  2. Hey Ethan,
This sounds like a really nice Pesach. Mine was pretty similar and it was nice to have a break and spend time with family. My brother suprised my family and came home from college so that was a really nice start. I don't really mind not eating Chometz so I really enjoy Passover unlike other people who complain a lot. Although, there is a ton of cooking and prep involved in the holiday.

  3. Hi Ethan. It sounds like you had a great holiday. In addition to all of the other foods you listed, I also like to make matzah farfel on Pesach, but the coffee cake that you make on Pesach is also very delicious. Manishevitz does a really good job with it.
