You may or may not recall that I had VERY long hair. The last time I really cut it was in 6th grade...so 5 years ago. I’ve been growing it since then and it had gotten super long, almost down to my butt but not quite. I had been wanting to cut it for a while, since like last year, but the timing was never right with dance and all that. I had this temple ceremony called confirmation on Saturday and I wanted to get my hair done anyway, so I figured why not cut it now? There would never be a perfect time so I should just go for it. I was planning on having it a little past my shoulders so I could still put it in a bun for the last 2 competitions, but things didn’t turn out that way. It ended up being much shorter than I had planned on and now it rests on my shoulders. I wasn’t planning on cutting it this short but I’m absolutely in love with it. Many people have told me they think it suits me better than long hair even though they didn’t expect it and I completely agree. It’s much easier to manage without shedding all over the house all day and not using mass amounts of shampoo and conditioner. Now brushing it takes like 5 seconds and it always looks perfect and adorable. It definitely felt weird at first but I got used to it quickly. I wanted to donate it and ended up cutting off a whole foot of hair in the end! And because I’m donating it, I get 2 hours per inch, which is going to be super helpful for the service hours requirement. I haven’t had my hair this short since 6th grade, but I think the way I look with it now is much different than back then. I think overall it makes me look older and I’m just obsessed with the way it looks. Have you ever cut your hair short? If not, would you want to?
Hey Ellie, congratulations on your haircut! I also recently got a haircut, but it ended up being too short. Honestly, I felt a pound lighter because my hair hadn't been this short since the beginning of our sophomore year of high school. It's not as bad anymore since my hair grows pretty quickly, but I will not be cutting it that short again ahahaha. I think it's very generous of you to go out of your way to donate your hair rather than just letting it get thrown out!
ReplyDeleteHey Ellie, believe it or not I can actually kind of relate to you, just on a smaller scale. My whole life almost, I've had extremely long hair, especially in like 2020 and early quarantine my hair was obscenely long, and making the decision to cut all your hair off is not an easy decision, like you said. I also ended up liking my new short hair, so maybe it's for the best for everyone.

ReplyDeleteI saw your new hair and I absolutely loved it! It looks so good on you. Honestly my hair has been long my whole life. I have thought about cutting my hair short, but I feel like long hair suits me the best. Everyone that knows me knows that I have this long brown hair. I love my long hair. Thankfully, it doesn't cause me too many problems and it is very easy to deal with. Sometimes I think about it, but I really do not want to regret it. I love it.
