Romy H Week 21 Bridgerton Review

Wow. What a show. I watched the Netflix original show, Bridgerton, over the weekend, and it was nothing short of amazing. It was filled with drama and romance, what more could you want? The show takes place in the 1800s in England. It’s all about their society and the Bridgerton family especially. This show uncovers the stress women feel to find a husband that will provide for them and create a future with them. Women were not able to be independent and needed a man to be respected in society. Throughout the show, Daphne Briderton became more confident in herself while navigating the proper way to enter society by trying to find a suitable husband.

The plot was slow at first, but it got interesting and dramatic quite quickly. There were scandals happening left and right, and I never suspected anything. Nobody spoiled it for me, and the identity of lady Whistedown remained a surprise for me until the end, although I had my suspicions. It was very romantic and heated, which made the relationships that much more real. As a watcher, I really felt like I was facing the hardships the characters were going through and became extremely invested in the relationship between the main couple.

My favorite part of the show is their accents and the costumes. I always enjoy listening to British accents, and they were very prim and proper in the way they spoke. Also, the fashion and hairstyling were purely remarkable. Each main character and every extra background character wore elegant dresses with the most beautiful hairstyles. The costume designer went to every extent to make sure each character had every possible accessory to make them look beautiful and royal. I wish I could wear a ballgown as they did just for fun.

Have you seen the show Bridgerton? What did you think? If you haven't seen it, do you want to watch it?

  1. I have NOT seen Bridgerton, but I do have a fun fact!

Shonda Rhimes, who is the producer of the show, was on vacation on a beach somewhere. She brought a few books, but she finished reading them. So she was looking for something else to read and happened to pick up Bridgerton. THAT is how she discovered it. Crazy, how random that is.

  2. Hi Romy,
UGH so beautiful. Probably one of the best tv shows I watched. I loved everything, the scenery, the outfits, the accents, just everything.I need a season two. I hear that each season if going to be about a different sibling life of the Bridgerton family. I am so happy I watched it because I absolutely loved it. I do 100% recommend people to watch this show.

  3. Hi Romy,
I tried to watch this show. I started it one day and was only able to watch half of an episode because I just couldn't get hooked on.
I keep hearing good reviews so i'm thinking of giving it another try and watching a few episodes before deciding whether its good or not.
